The Play Date

I’ve been feeling a little blue lately. Baby L is very cute, it’s a fact, but does she really need all that attention?

Veronica is either on the phone with MC or on Face Time to see Baby L or at MC and VH’s house to help out with one thing or another… I know, I’m being selfishly jealous here, I get my walks, my Agility and my fun.

Still, I think that Baby needs to cut back the attention span she creates! I’m used to better service.

This residence has seen it’s standards seriously decline, it used to be, perhaps not a five star accommodation, but let’s give it a four…now we barely reach a three star!!

As if my life wasn’t disrupted enough, Dennis has left us to travel to be with his family. He was very happy leaving. (Me not so)

I understand, he misses his family and now he gets to spend quality time with them. Go to Baseball games with ML, eat exotic food and take his Mom shopping.

Meanwhile, I’m just a sad lonely Boxer girl, abandoned by all.

When the other day Veronica announced that I was invited for a play date, I could hardly believe my luck!! Finally some true fun just for me.

We’re going off to visit Inook…and FE! Yippie!! They live in this great house with a fun garden where dogs can do WHAT THEY WANT!! (You hear that? What they want!!!)

Unlike ours, we have rules! Well it’s Veronica’s house…this explains that!!

Inook is the best. We play like crazy..

and run…

and play…

and play some more…!

IMG_7291 2.jpg

This whole “Running and wrestling” episode is quite exhausting. We crash in the house.

IMG_7300 2.jpg

It’s a super cool house, there’s so much fun stuff around. Toys, cushions to climb on and the sofa’s are dog friendly! These people really know how to live life at it’s full potential!

Veronica and Dennis have a lesson to learn here!!

IMG_7290 2.jpg

Lunch was served… well not for us. Inook took up a strategic position by the table. Yeah, Yeah, we all know you live here and have privileges! No need to rub it in!

FE who is very fair and super nice to me, always, sent him away. Not sure he appreciated.

I decided it was time to explore the house, there’s bound to be some fun stuff. Sure enough, I found this interesting wooden basket, well it was a wooden bakset before my investigation.

Inook pretended to be shocked, giving me the “What are you doing? Are you crazy?” look. Bet you he was jealous!!

Veronica discovered my new game and sadly put an end to it! I’ve said this before: She’s a total spoilsport!

FE on the other hand just laughed. Ha, see, this is a true dog friendly residence! I give it five stars, easy!

Again: Veronica, look and learn… and stop telling me off!! Here FE’s the Boss!

Suddenly, out of the blue we were summoned:   “C’mon, guys, time for ‘Thursday Big dog lesson’ ”

Thursday Big Dog what now??? Oh no!!!! I’ve been tricked!! There should be a law forbidding lessons linked to play dates!

If at least it had been Agility, but this whole “Thursday learn to socialise” business is clearly not my cup of tea!!

At Corinne’s, I didn’t feel like joining the group of playing dogs… no I wasn’t in the mood, I’ll observe for a while.

Inook agreed with me. We felt that distance at this point of the lesson would be the wise choice.

Time for serious training:

I have to say, me, Mylo and Inook excel at the “Down stay” exercise. Just look at us, perfect, not moving a muscle, stoic, even when others behave very childishly.

Bonus points would easily be in order, that’s what I feel, and I’m sure the guys agree.

There was this minor only minor incident… well I still think the event was blown out of proportion.

Thing is, we did this exercise, supposedly it helps us to socialise, well I don’t agree…at all!

Yes, I feel uncomfortable, so at one point I snipped at Meika, the Beauceron…

OMG did I underestimate the consequences of expressing my inner feelings! Corinne was not happy, to say the least. Veronica… very upset. (Bonus points would come in handy here)

Honestly, much ado about nothing! Did I bite her? NO! Did I even touch her? NO!

Ok, I might have overdone the actual snipping but hey, I admit it! So let’s focus on what’s important here: MY HONESTY!!

Meika was the only one relaxed, unconcerned and looking smug. (Yeah, like she’s such little Ms Perfect?! P-LEASE!)

The BIG surprise on the way home was a stop at the Airport! Guess what, Dennis’s coming home!!! YES! I’m so happy! I did have a fun day, and I know Corinne always loves me.

The incident? Don’t care!

Dennis is back! He’ll understand! He get’s me!!

Special thanks to FE for all the wonderful lunches and loving my little F however weirdly she behaves

The Baby

We have a Baby in the family!!! Yes!! Can you believe that??? And I’m not kidding here!! A REAL LIVE BABY!

MC and VH had a little Baby L

I’m in quite a shock to tell you the truth! A Baby??!! Was that really necessary?? I mean I’m the family Baby…and then Indya of course!! We are the cute ones! No need for supplementary Babies!

And if that’s not enough we have Little E from time to time!

Come think of it, I’m not sure Little E will be thrilled by the arrival of this new family member. She loves dolls, sure, but a live Baby?

She’s used to being the center of attention and the star here, not to mention her very slight “Drama Queen” personality.

Well, well…interesting, very interesting…can’t wait to see how that works out…

These past months Indya and I had been quite worried about MC, she was getting a little chubby and then there was that weird bump up front.

She stopped running and slept all the time, there were sudden mood swings. Yes, we were seriously worried about her.

We had no idea Baby L was hidden in that bump.

There were many changes at MC and VH’s house: New strange furniture, and new wall paper.

Plenty of new toys Indya wasn’t allowed to play with.

Apparently Babies need special Baby furniture, special Baby toys and a whole range of special Baby stuff!

Totally exaggerated.

Let’s not forget the party!! Baby L got a party before she was even born! YES! I might understand the furniture and the toys, but a pre birth party??? Now that’s ridiculous!!

It’s called a Baby shower… pffff…. and look at all these balloons, and there were plenty of gifts and many, many, many of MC’s girlfriends, half of them with Baby bumps. Is pregnancy contagious?

Worst of all; We were NOT invited!! But conveyed upstairs, away from the fun and the balloons! The injustice of it!!

Veronica told us we would get “too agitated”…PLEASE..

BTW talking about agitated; those girls down there were loud and giggly! A bunch of Boxers would have acted more dignified!

The Pot calling the Kettle black!! That’s what I say!

FullSizeRender 2

The only REAL fun during that party, from our perspective, was that NC came up to cuddle with us, AND give us treats.

I kind of had the feeling he felt a little out of place…with all those girls around. He was the ONLY guy after all.

Something super cool did come out of that whole crazy Baby shower business; I got to play with the balloons and make them pop. ALL of them.. best game ever!!

FYI: Planning a Baby Shower? I’ll handle the balloons!

Then one day Baby L was born. A tiny Baby Girl. The family was overjoyed and with the joy came the unavoidable crying session…of course. EVERYONE was crying!!

It reminded me of The Wedding! I just don’t get it; the whole “Very happy/crying” nonsense??!!

Pathetic! C’mon guys, get a grip! You’re embarrassing yourselves!

We were introduced to Baby L. “Now girls you have to be calm, no licking, she’s very small and delicate, admire her from a distance”

We were allowed to smell her.

A question;  she’s super tiny and looks more like a doll to me,  does she really need all these accessories?  And is she here to stay?

Indya had mixed feelings. Was her life going to change with a Baby in the house?

She had to keep close watch, just in case…

Baby L came along in the stroller on all the walks.

Even in the fields. It was a special Swedish stroller. “The Volvo of strollers” so Dennis said.

Amazingly enough, Indya got quite attached to Baby L. She felt a certain responsibility towards the family.

It was now her role to protect and keep Baby L safe, away from all dangers.

When Baby L came over to our house, everything was about her.

Veronica became really silly, she could do nothing else other than to stare at her, or carry her, and go on and on about her; “Isn’t she adorable? Just look at her. She’s so cute” on and on I tell you!

Enough already with the dotting! It’s just a baby!

Babies have to eat a lot!! I mean A LOT! And they make small weird noises.

I had no idea a Baby could be this time consuming! And aren’t Babies suppose to cry all the time? Well, that’s what I’ve heard.

Baby L never cries, never! She sleeps, or smiles or eats. Astonishing. Is this a special Baby?

I think it’s because VH is the father, yes that’s it. It’s the only explanation, obviously it couldn’t come from the family genes, oh no, way too much drama here!!

Reluctantly I have to admit she’s a tiny bit cute…well quite cute….ok ok I’m totally taken in by her charms, she’s ADORABLE!! (Can’t believe I just said that!!)

IMG_7101 2.jpg

Baby L is here to stay, I’ll just have to deal with it.

On the plus side, Baby L will grow into Little L and small people come with a whole range of advantages;

They like to share their food…they give goodies… they blow fun soap bubbles…. and she’ll be just as cute as Little E.

I might… just might… love Baby L.

The Easter Bunny

I am very excited and happy! The Easter Bunny came to our house!!! Yes he himself! He got me a gift!

Here’s the thing; I did not technically see him. Obviously he has to be discreet, if not we would see his hiding places. Anyway, who else could have hidden those eggs that well? I ask you??

Trust me, it was the Easter Bunny!!

Living in Veronica’s house means no holiday without festive decorations! We know that by now! These are the Swedish Easter feathers. Yes I know what you’re thinking, I agree, very strange!

My secret dream is to grab the lot, feathers and all, and have a big Easter party around the house…but my amazing self restraint keeps my impulses under control. Yes, I’m a well mannered Boxer girl.

Ok, ok there was a tiny little incident…but let’s not get ahead of events!

This is the Easter box, with all the appropriate items. It’s astonishingly small compared to the Christmas ones.

If it wasn’t for Dennis’s prompt intervention at the store, there would be three boxes…at least! I’m with him on this one, enough stuff already!

The Easter table is beautiful. I think I look fab there. Like a beautiful Easter Bunny! “Felicia, the adorable Easter Bunny Boxer adorning the table”.

Oh, I have a great idea! Somebody should make festive Easter cards with this photo!! “Happy Easter, wishes Felicia von der Andreashöhe, the Bunny Boxer”! I would become super famous! Oh yeah!

Veronica used to have small candy eggs lying there too…until they mysteriously disappeared… I have NO idea what happened.

D-Day arrived, they were so busy with preparations that, as always, they forgot about me!! Hey guys, over here, hungry Boxer girl on her mat!

Goes to show on a scale of one to ten, where I stand!

Veronica dressed me in my special “Easter festive bow”. I know, ridiculous. It used to be worse… much worse!

I had bunny ears!! Can you imagine? “Felicia, it’s only for the photo”… Well, that’s no reason to ridicule your sweet dog, I look PATHETIC!

One day I “found” the Bunny ears on the table and…well…let’s just say no dog will ever wear those again!

Good news, the bow is just for the actual day. Not to be worn on walks or at Corinne’s. I would be utterly embarrassed if Inook, Mylo or even the Cutie Pugs saw me with it!

Finally, after an eternity the family arrived.

The big moment arrived: The egg hunt!!! Veronica’s the “Head Commander”: One, two, go!!

We ran off like crazy searching in the whole garden.

Some members seem to have difficulties finding their egg…especially ZC…she has the “Egg Hunt Panic” syndrome, and needs to be assisted by fellow family members.

NC was my “Egg Hunt Buddy”, we searched together! And what have we found??

MY egg?  YES…ONLY for me!!!

NC made me sit down, and slowly, very slowly he opened the magic egg.

WOW!! A bunny!! WOW!! My own bunny! How cool is that!!!!

I was beside myself with joy!! And I played like crazy!! Wohooo… lets go wild with the bunny!!

The others were still searching, c’mon guys, what’s your problem? Look at me, I found my egg, easy peasy!!

MBC got a mild touch of the “Egg Hunt Panic” syndrome, and needed active help from more skilled searchers, such as EC, he’s an expert! Can you imagine, needing help? Pffff… Oh, my “Egg Hunt Buddy”? Totally different situation, apples and oranges here!!

Anyhow, let’s focus on what’s important; we have a very clever Easter Bunny!

IMG_6706 2.jpg

The Easter meal looked amazing, Dennis had been cooking all morning. At this point I was considering my options;

Sit by Dennis’s side? Usually that pays off… though today I felt NC might be the wiser choice. Sure enough, he knew what a festive Easter Boxer girl needed, a little yummy reward.

It would have been the perfect Easter holiday if it hadn’t been for the very insignificant incident. Now there are two sides to this story!! So listen to mine!!

Veronica received beautiful big flowers and needed the large vase…she put the feathers on the table…

I deducted she was going to throw them away…I saw a golden opportunity for some fun…I mean it couldn’t hurt just to have a quick peak…anyway they were having dinner in the kitchen…

…unfortunately “throwing away feathers” was not on Veronica’s agenda!

I got a whole lecture about “Destroying nice decorations” and “They were on the table Felicia” she even mumbled something that sounded very much like “No Easter egg for you next year”

C’mon, they looked really old! AND how was I to know that “On the table” meant she was reusing them??? She really needs to be more specific!

As for the Easter Bunny…

…he loves me and anyhow I don’t care!

I have my own Bunny!

Happy Easter!
