You haven’t heard from us for a while, there are several reasons;
First of all Veronica went traveling to Sweden…without me…of course. That’s usually ok, I have fun at Uncle Bradley’s.
Only this time she kept on bragging about what a “wonderful trip” it had been. And “Felicia you would have loved those large forests”.
I find that a little insensitive. I get it, she had her fun, but does she need to go on and on about the “Wonderful dog friendly forests”. Helloooo, I’m not allowed to travel there.
Just zip it!
As if the whole “Forest episode” wasn’t enough she hung out with other dogs, well this one dog, Hippie.
She’s a “Schapendoes” and apparently really sweet, nice and fun. “You’d love her Felicia”.
Bring it on, I say, take me to Stockholm and let me decide whether I find her interesting…or not!
Now the Lazy summer days are here, that’s the second reason I’ve been very quiet on the story front.
Not much going on. Veronica reads and drinks, tea, then reads some more. Corinne is on vacation which means no Agility. It’s very hot and walks become difficult.
Of course there is the endless “Come and swim” Felicia business, but I can handle that now.
No, I am NOT going swimming whatever you guys think.
I go to my quiet spot, it’s cool and I can keep an eye on my territory, fulfilling my duty as a guard dog.
We have many intruders. Who? Off the top of my head: “The Strutting Pigeon” for one. You have no idea what an exhausting life I have.
Incidentally there’s much less talk of swimming when I’m here.
I do kind of swim though, I mean look how far I’ve gone out. That’s good enough in my opinion. No need to overdo it, and it’s just as refreshing.
I’ve said this before, swimming is overrated! (BTW, I’m NOT a wimp!)
We walk during the coolest hours. Don’t you just love sunflowers?
Mostly, in the late evenings. I still haven’t met those Boars they were talking about. (Veronica has seen a few here).
We avoid the forests, they’re full of mosquitos. Dennis and I have put our Veto on those walks. Veronica doesn’t understand, probably because she’s Swedish, she’s mosquito resistant.
Summer is the time for fun excursions, like a visit to Veronica’s sister, SPS, and the Cutie Pugs in their huge garden.
They’re all very sad at the moment. Sweet Boxer Zarah had to leave for Fairyland. She’s probably hanging out with my Lego right now.
I’m happy I could be a little ray of sunshine in the Cutie Pugs life under these circumstances. We had great fun though Rose is still a little shy.
Yoda and I are total BFF’s. He’s always up for some cool game. Pugs are very funny dogs. We understand each other, it’s probably a nose thing.
We have many Summer guests. GM came from Zürich with Erasme. I don’t know why, but he did not want to play with me. GM say’s it’s because he’s getting old.
I don’t know what she’s talking about, I find him very handsome and fit. He was probably just having a bad hair day or something.
I have to mention THE World Cup game: Sweden/Switzerland! OMG! What an ordeal!
See the family was deeply divided. Dennis (who want’s to integrate) and MBC (Portugal is out) were pro Switzerland. The others pro Sweden.
(FYI all these guys (apart from Dennis) are dual and even triple nationals. How their fan zone works is a mystery to me.)
Veronica, who doesn’t even like football, was forced to watch “Mamma, det är en familje stund” (Mamma, it’s family time) and she forced me. (Like I’m some kind of football nerd now..???)
The actual watching mostly consisted of a lot of shouting, (that out of courtesy I will spare you from) not from the guys, but those girls can sure be loud. (Thank god the players couldn’t here them).
See what my summer is like, thankfully the World Cup will soon be over, and what do I care anyway, that ball is not for me!
I’ll just relax here on the lawn until it’s time for my walk, perhaps we’ll meet a boar.
